Apply for this role →A Berlin-based fintech client is scaling its payments platform across the DACH region and needs a senior full stack engineer who can own features from database to interface. You will work directly inside their product squad, not alongside it.
This client runs sprint ceremonies, internal documentation, and compliance reviews in German, so a working command of the language is non-negotiable for this engagement. Code, pull requests, and architecture discussions are in English.
What you will do
- Own payment and onboarding features end to end, from schema to shipped UI|Work inside the client product squad, in their repo, on their release cadence|Take part in German-language sprint ceremonies and compliance reviews|Review pull requests and raise the standard of the codebase around you|Flag regulatory and security risk early rather than after the fact
Requirements
- Six or more years building production web applications|German at C1 level, confirmed on the intro call|Strong React and TypeScript, comfortable owning frontend architecture|Solid Node.js and PostgreSQL, including query performance work|Experience in a regulated environment such as payments, banking or insurance|Currently living and legally able to work in Germany
Nice to have
- Prior work under PSD2, BaFin or similar regulatory frameworks|Experience with event-driven architectures and message queues|Familiarity with AI-assisted development tooling such as Cursor or Copilot
