Apply for this role →A Madrid-based e-commerce group is rebuilding its storefront on Next.js and needs a senior front-end engineer who treats Core Web Vitals and accessibility as requirements rather than cleanup tasks. Peak traffic during campaign launches is the real test.
The client team runs planning and design reviews in Spanish. Written technical work, including pull requests and documentation, is in English.
What you will do
- Rebuild core storefront journeys on Next.js with server components|Hold Core Web Vitals green through campaign traffic peaks|Own the component library and keep it consistent with the design system|Take part in Spanish-language planning and design reviews|Write the Playwright coverage that protects checkout
Requirements
- Five or more years in front-end engineering|Spanish at B2 or above, enough to follow and contribute to planning discussions|Deep React and TypeScript, with real Next.js App Router experience|Demonstrable performance work, not just familiarity with the metrics|WCAG accessibility knowledge applied in production|Based in Spain or Portugal with EU working hours
Nice to have
- Headless commerce experience with Shopify or commercetools|Design system ownership at scale|Comfort with AI-assisted development tooling
